This blog is primarily a travel and life blog, documenting my socially awkward travels across the globe and my weird life. It was originally started four years ago with another friend in Cape Town, South Africa but is now written by just me. These days I currently live in Mexico City, Mexico. This blog oscillates between documenting my own social awkwardness and that of my friends, to discussing serious issues facing women today, to mapping my own travel and life adventures.
More About Me
I am a young South African girl, who has always been interested in everything (books, education, different countries, languages, travel and culture) and strived to fill my life with as much adventure and joy as possible. In my 30 years I have accumulated 4 degrees, including a PhD in psychology. I currently work as a political writer/researcher in politics in Sub-Saharan Africa, which I do mostly remotely. I am a researcher, writer, social activist, feminist, yoga lover, ferocious reader, language junkie, traveller and adventurer. I also have a teaching english as a foreign language (TEFL) certificate and several years of experience in development programmes in the areas of HIV/AIDS, violence against women, refugees and poverty. I speak five language. Some badly and some quite well- English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Swahili and Spanish. I have been travelling on and off for 9 years and have two travel blogs based on my weird life and my travels. My other blog is a travel blog: https://southafricangingersabroad.wordpress.com/.
Feel free to read about my misadventures and awkward experiences.
P.S: I took this photo during a sunset when I was camping in the Okavango Delta in Botswana and the one below is of me in Zanzibar on Prison island.
